History involves people that have acted in the past. In turn the historian interprets the events and tells the cause and effects that the events had on a person, the family, a community, and a nation. Basic knowledge about cultures and their backgrounds give the individual clues to why events occurred which aids the individual in understanding the world that surrounds them. This course is designed for each student to develop a fundamental knowledge of the events which have shaped the United States and his/her society.
