About Me

Educational History:

I graduated from Wichita State Unversity in May 2012.  I was an active member of the WSU Bands while there.  I was a member of Shocker Sound (the WSU Pep Band) all 3 years, and I had the pleasure of traveling to many different locations for post-season tournaments, especially the NIT in New York City and the 2012 NCAA Tournament First Round in Portland, OR.  I was also a member of the WSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, which presented me the opportunity of performing in Carnegie Hall in 2011.  I was also a member of Jazz Arts I.

Prior to WSU, I attended Hutchinson Community College and was a member of every ensemble that was offered (Concert Band, Jazz I and II, and Pep Band.)

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Music Education- Wichita State University

Associates of Arts- Hutchinson Community College

Current Position:

I began teaching at Dighton High School in 2015.  I teach 5-12 band, jazz band, and advanced music, which is currently a combination of Music Theory and Music History.

Previous Position:

I was recently the director of bands at Oberlin-Decatur Community Schools in 2014/2015.

I was also previously a substitute teacher in Hutchinson, Nickerson, and Inman public schools.

Personal Information:

I am a major nerd.  When not at school, I enjoy working on costumes for Comic-Con Conventions.  My favorites TV shows are all centered around comicbooks also.  In other free time, you can find me playing video games on Xbox 360 (either football, Call of Duty, or any one of the LEGO video games.)  Outside of comicbook superheroes, I am an avid Shocker Superfan and huge Jayhawk fan (yes, even football.)

I am also a member of the Hutchinson Municipal Band and the Salt City Big Band.
